Corporate identity of Elron

The train operator Elron (abbreviation of the words „Estonian line trains”) belonging to the state of Estonia purchased new trains from the Swiss company Stadler in 2013. The popular model Stadler Flirt has options with diesel as well as electric engines. The cars were manufactured in a factory in Poland, with the design selected by Polish designers and orange colour. People have started to call them “carrots”. The brisk logo of the company with the shape of a knot on the sides of the cars, created by an unknown designer, has been also called “a flying sperm”.

The pictograms and scheme of lines used inside a train are also worth attention. The unknown designer has boldly reflected their opinion of the character of a passenger and filled the wall surfaces with images targeted to customers with limited imagination. An achievement in itself is the scheme of lines, where thick sausage-like vectors ignore the geographic reality of Estonia, and route all lines in the direction convenient for the author.
